I was just thinking about how similar DotM is to Buffy. (Buffy came out first). First of all, the vamps vs. followers is very close. Followers seem to be very "soulless" creatures. They both take place LA (okay, Angel took place in LA, but Sunnydale is real close by). Serena and Stanton's relationship is very much like Buffy and Angel's as it has to do with immortality getting in the way, not to mention the whole good/evil pair is forbidden. I mean, Sacrifice is almost a complete parallel to I Will Remember You. The two getting the chance at a future but he has to give up mortality to help his lover. I love Daughters of the Moon, but I just can't help but see all the similarities.

Lot's of stories and movies have the star-crossed lovers thing going on. Which is all based on Romeo and Juliet.

Not necessarily. The plot of star-crossed lovers was developed centuries before Romeo and Juliet ever existed.

well i think u could take a million stories and find parallels. like my friend is convinced DOTM and Sailor Moon r the same. maybe, who knows. But seriously for every story ever written u could probably find another one a lot like it. Its just b/c trying to make up new stories is hard. I mean think of how many have already been done. Whatever u decided i can pretty much guarentee u that DOTM is not a "Buffy copy" though they do admittedly have some likenesses

[glow=blue,2,300]Nah, I don't think they are a like. I don't see similarites between Followers and Vampires other then being immortal. Which, Vampires aren't quite immortal. They can still die.
Anyway, the forbidden love thing did come from Romeo and Juliet, star crossed lovers, no.[/glow]
